Felt Play Mat

I stitched up this felt forest play mat this week. It's dimensions are just right to fit some plastic shelves in the kids' play room.

 

These things look much cuter when you hand stitch the applique with a blanket stitch, but I am short on patience and not very good at that stitch. So, I just used the "H' setting on my sewing machine to put the pieces on. 

 

Connor inserted some Lego mini figures for your enjoyment. That one on the tree is supposed to be hiding behind it.

I plan to make two more, a sea scape and planets in space, and then attach them with velcro to the tops of the shelves (which I have separated out so they're more like tables - I'll post a pick when I'm done). That way, if and when we finally get wood shelves, they'll be easy to remove.
